Introduction to Moreton Island, Australia
Moreton Island is a popular holiday destination around 22 miles off the coast of Brisbane, Australia. The island mostly consists of national park, but there are several towns and villages where guests can stay. Some Moreton Island hotels are located in Bulwer, an island town geared to tourists. Visitors can find a convenience store and taxis as well as shops selling fishing bait and tackle. Fishing is one of the most popular island activities. Bulwer also has some of the most scenic views of the mainland. Cowan Cowan is a quieter township where vehicles are prohibited. Visitors interested in WWII history can find a number of war remnants here, leftover from the island's time as a coastal defence base. Some of the ferries from the mainland arrive in Kooringal, home to the famous Toulkerrie oyster farm as well as peaceful beachside accommodation. Other ferries arrive in Tangalooma, most famous for its wild dolphins. Guests can see this wildlife by visiting the Tangalooma wild dolphin resort, while there is excellent scuba-diving at Tangalooma Wrecks.other spellings: moreton isla otel, moreton islan hotell, moreton island hote, moreton hotes
