Introduction to Melbourne - Airport
Melbourne Airport is one of the main gateways into Australia and the second busiest in the country. The hub offers direct flights to 33 different Australian destinations as well as numerous routes to other regions in Oceania, Asia, Europe, North America and Africa. It is a major hub for Virgin Atlantic and Qantas, while Jetstar Airways and Tiger Airways Australia also use it as their home base. There are four terminals, with Terminal 1 handling domestic flights, Terminal 2 dealing with international flights, Terminal 3 being used by Virgin Australia and Regional Express Airlines, and Terminal 4 used solely by budget airlines. Passengers are provided with all the top facilities expected of an airport of this size, with a wide variety of restaurants and bars, excellent shopping opportunities and car rental agencies among what's on offer. The airport is located just 23kms north of the city centre, and transport links are of a high standard.
