Introduction to Mallacoota, Australia
Few towns in the Australian state of Victoria are as isolated as Mallacoota, the last community along the state's beautiful east coast prior to the New South Wales border. During major holidays, this small town's population increases eightfold and there are dozens of Mallacoota hotels ready to accommodate these guests. The town and its namesake inlet boast Victoria’s warmest temperatures in winter and cooling ocean breezes in summer. The inlet and its two main lakes are dotted with breathtaking beaches, cliffs, mountains and wildlife. The surrounding Croajingolong National Park contains 30 per cent of Australia’s birdlife in addition to lush rainforest, white sandy beaches, rocky peaks of granite and over 1,000 plant species. One of Australia’s oldest lighthouses is a pink granite tower which has stood over nearby Gabo Island since 1862. Bastion Point boasts the area’s best surfing, while Betka Beach is the safest place to swim and the most successful place to fish.other spellings: nallacoota hote, malacoota hotle, mallacootahotels, mallacota hotell, mallakoota otel
