Introduction to Laidley, Australia
Queensland’s self-styled ‘Country Garden’, Laidley is a quaint little agricultural town that lies 50 miles inland from the Sunshine Coast and about the same distance from the state capital, Brisbane. Much of the fresh, locally produced vegetables here make their way onto the dinner tables of families across the country, which means the restaurants and cafes here serve up only the best. The western edge of town is by far the most attractive, featuring Laidley Golf Course and nearby Lake Dyer, which is a popular spot for barbeques and walking in the summer. Laidley has excellent transport links to major destinations in the state, courtesy of a central railway station and the close by Warrego Highway, both of which connect directly to Brisbane. A limited number of Laidley hotels can be found by the iconic Das Neumann Haus Museum, the one-time home of a German immigrant and his family, with the building today offering an interesting look at the history of the Neumann family. other spellings: laodley hote, laidly hotle, laidleyhotels, liadley hotell, laitley otel au
