Kooralbyn is an inland resort in Queensland's Scenic Rim region. There are few permanent residents here, with most of the population visiting guests staying in Kooralbyn hotels. Most of the town's attractions are self-contained, so guests have little need to travel farther afield. The town has its own shopping complex with units providing petrol, real estate and typical groceries. In addition, golfers will be delighted by the town's golf course; Augusta Fairways' 18 holes have been developed to meet championship standards. Other sports facilities include polo fields, tennis courts and mini golf. Skiing enthusiasts visiting Kooralbyn needn't wait until the Australian ski season starts before they hit the slopes. The town is home to an indoor ski centre which is open all year round. The town is around 10 miles from Route 90, which offers easy access to the town from resorts on the Gold Coast. Otherwise, the town has its own small airstrip, convenient for those with their own aircraft and charter flight passengers.
