One of the oldest settled towns inland in Victoria, Kilmore lies just 45 minutes north of Melbourne by car. The town is famous for its historical buildings and transport heritage in the form of the Tramway Museum Society of Victoria. Situated just outside the centre, the museum displays trams dating back to the early 20th century. Although the main line to Melbourne has changed over the years, Kilmore East still operates services to the centre of the city.
