Introduction to Kiama, Australia

Kiama is a town of just over 12,000 people, about 120kms to the south of Sydney in the state of New South Wales. This seaside town is popular among tourists, with one of the biggest attractions being the Kiama Blowhole. This geographical wonder can spray water as high as 25 metres in the sky under certain conditions and soak everyone standing nearby. Another popular site for tourists is the Cathedral Rocks, just a few kilometers out of town. Here, visitors can view the interesting rock formations as well as enjoy the scenic walkways along the coastline. The town is a haven for surfers, with a number of excellent surfing beaches which provide a range of conditions and host many surfing competitions. In the town itself, there are a number of art galleries, cafes, restaurants and a small shopping centre. Nightlife is lively and there are a number of Kiama hotels to choose from which cater for visitors on various budgets.
