Keith is a scenic little town about 125 miles southeast of Adelaide in South Australia. The town is famous for the flowering plant known as lucerne, which is grown here in abundance, as well as its selection of historic buildings including a 100-year-old church which features beautiful, original lead windows. The main water feature which lights up at night was designed by local artist James Darling and is another popular sight. Outside the town are a number of areas of stunning natural beauty including the Prairie Lakes, Ngarkat Conservation Park and Big Desert Wilderness Park. These excellent destinations for hiking can all be reached in about 30 minutes by car from Keith. The unspoilt coastline, featuring sandy beaches, is about the same distance to the southwest. The majority of Keith hotels can be found close to the railway station on the town’s main thoroughfare, Dukes Highway, or on the bypass.
