Introduction to Karratha, Australia

Karratha in Western Australia is a very flat and expansive area. Being located on the Dampier port, it is an industrial town, which is frequented by Australians and foreigners looking to get away from the bustle of city life. There are a handful of bed and breakfast guest houses located near to the shopping centre. Karratha hotels are best pre booked as there are only a few main ones to choose from. As the town is a fairly new one, being developed in the 1960s, it is still growing and due to the increasing popularity of staying in Western Australia, more hotels in Karratha are set to be built. There are two nightclubs on the main high street, a handful of restaurants and fast food outlets as well as a new shopping complex to add to the existing shops. Not everyone stays in hotels in Karratha, many opt for inland camp sites.
