Introduction to Inverloch, Australia

Situated just 30 minutes southeast of Melbourne by car, Inverloch is a quiet beach getaway with a beautiful stretch of coastline that overlooks Andersons Inland, a large natural bay. The beach here features a long, narrow stretch of sand backed by rocks and woodland that can often be deserted out of season. At peak times, however, this is a popular spot for surfing, kite surfing and fishing. During the annual Labour Day weekend in March, the town hosts a jazz festival, during which time it gets extremely busy. Aside from the beach and the activities based around the water, Inverloch has a nearby golf course at Melaleuca, an excellent 18-hole course that overlooks the sea on the Bass Highway. Dinosaur Dreaming is also close by, offering a glimpse at an excavation site featuring dinosaur bones. Inverloch hotels are mainly bed and breakfasts. For the best rooms in town, head to those close to Rainbow Park.
