Introduction to Ingham, Australia
Ingham is a town located along the coast of North Queensland in Australia. The town has a population of just over 4,600 inhabitants and has been built up around the sugar caning industry. Australia's largest sugar mill - also one of the Southern Hemisphere's largest - is located near the town. Ingham is best known for its Australian-Italian Festival which is held every May and is one of the region's most popular events. Thousands of people from all over the region arrive in Ingham to celebrate the town's cultural background, which dates back to the 1890s when the region's first Italian immigrants arrived. Visitors arriving in the town will find plenty of Ingham hotels to choose from as well as an interesting mix of restaurants, including a Chinese and a Mediterranean. The town sits just off Bruce Highway, which runs from north to south along the state's coastline. There is excellent scenery to enjoy in the surrounding areas, with both Hinchinbrook Island and Girringun national parks situated just to the north.other spellings: eigntamhotels, otelin ingham, iegngham hotell, infam hote, iegnfam hotes, ingam
