Introduction to Huskisson, Australia
A sleepy little New South Wales beach resort, just 15 minutes by car from the larger town of Nowra, Huskisson makes an excellent beach getaway when the likes of Wollongong, further north, seem that little bit too busy. Most of the action here is based in and around the idyllic bay, which offers scuba diving from the main wharf and dolphin-watching boat trips during which other sea mammals can often be spotted including seals. In summer, these trips also run in the evening to take in the beautiful sunsets. Head to Jervis Bay National Park for the best walking in the area. For much of the year, this is a quiet coastal town with just 1,500 inhabitants. But during peak times, the local population swells as visitors come in from out of town.
