Introduction to Hervey Bay - Urangan
Hervey Bay is a large town located on Queensland's beautiful Fraser Coast. It is often referred to as the southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and overlooks the world's largest sand island, Fraser Island. It is made up of several small townships that amalgamated together several years ago to become the city of Hervey Bay. The suburb of Urangan is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area. Urangan hotels can be found throughout the suburb and generally offer reasonable rates for overnight and short-stay visitors. Urangan is located in the far east of the city, just to the east of the beach of Torquay and four kilometres north of the local airport. There are several major attractions found in the suburb. The regional botanical gardens are located in the district and the Urangan Pier is one of Queensland's most iconic landmarks; it is a one-kilometre long pier that was once the central port for Queensland's sugar and oil industry but today is nothing more than a landmark for tourists.other spellings: urangahotels, otel ulanga, urangan hotell, uramgan hote, urangna hotes, uranagn
