Introduction to Hay, Australia
Home to five museums – or one for every 700 residents – and a wealth of sports facilities, Hay is a little outback town in New South Wales that lies less than 100 miles from the Victoria state border. One of the most interesting exhibitions here is a first-hand video taken by a Hay soldier at the WWI Gallipoli campaign. The centre of the city features attractive colonial buildings just north of the winding Murrumbidgee River, next to which are a golf course and Hay State Forest, a great spot for walking. Farther north there is a horse-racing course and showground that serves as a major day out for the locals at certain times of the year. Almost all of the dozen or so Hay hotels are lined up on Cobb Highway, the main thoroughfare which runs north to south through town. The most scenic accommodation is south by Lions Park.other spellings: hayhotels, otel haie, hey hotell, heigh hote, hya hotes, ahy hote
