Introduction to Halls Gap, Australia
Halls Gap is a small town in the Grampians National Park, Victoria.

Only 281 people officially live in the town, but that number swells significantly each summer.

At this time, huge throngs of visitors flock here to enjoy the hiking and climbing opportunities on offer.

There are at least 100 miles of walking trails in the park, catering to a range of abilities.

Alternatively, more experienced mountaineers can attempt to climb Chataqua Peak.

There are plenty of hotels in Halls Gap, as well as a supermarket where hikers can stock up on supplies prior to their trip.

The supermarket is opposite a park where kangaroos tend to congregate in the late afternoon.

In addition, there are also good opportunities for spotting koalas on the low branches of trees around the town.

Most travellers get to Halls Gap with their own vehicle; public transport is limited.

However, there is a bus here from Ballarat, with a change at Stawell.
