Located in the state of Victoria where the Gippsland Lakes eventually spill out into the sea, Lakes Entrance is the main tourist destination in the Gippsland area, with a wealth of activities to keep any tourist busy. Unsurprisingly, most of the action here is centred on the water, including swimming and sailing as well as paddle boating. But there are also other outdoor activities here as well, including mini-golf. In places, the town is showing its age but then there is so much to do in the vicinity that this is hardly an issue for most travellers here. Those looking for that perfect, deserted Australian beach need look no further than the many strips of sand close by where there is often not a single soul lying in the sun.
