Introduction to Geelong - City Centre
Geelong is an Australian city in the state of Victoria, just over 40 miles from Melbourne. It forms part of Port Philip Bay and is regarded as the second-biggest city in the state. Travellers can get here by flying to Avalon Airport from Brisbane, Sydney or Portland. On arrival, passengers can take a shuttle bus to the city centre, where much of the best accommodation is located. The airport transfer shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. Alternatively, train travellers will arrive at Geelong Station, on the edge of the city centre. Geelong City Centre hotels are within walking distance of the city's best shopping outlets, such as ones at Market Square. In addition, they also offer easy access to the waterfront area, a few minutes' walk from Market Square. This area hosts attractions such as botanical gardens, cafes and fairground rides.
