Situated in New South Wales, Forster attracts tourists from around the world, especially those who enjoy water sports such as surfing and those who are looking to join whale watching trips. As the town is so popular, there is a good selection of hotels in Forster, particularly in the town centre, from where getting to attractions such as the lake and J Holland Park is easy. Kids will enjoy the safe swimming areas and the paddle boats along the coast while adults can enjoy the usual high standard of Australian dining in the ocean-facing restaurants that back the shore. Elizabeth Beach is best suited to families as the water here is shallow while Shelly Beach sees a number of nudists and may therefore not be suitable for young ones.
