Introduction to Exmouth, Australia

Exmouth is a small town in the far northwest of Australia. The town was developed as a US naval communication station in the 1960s, but tourism is the town's main industry nowadays. Travellers use Exmouth as a base for visiting the Cape Range National Park, as well as scuba diving on nearby Ningaloo Reef. There are two excellent dive shops in the town, offering the most modern diving equipment. Travellers can get here by flying to Learmouth Airport from Perth. Learmouth Airport is 25 miles south of the town, with regular services operated by Skywest. Alternatively, buses depart from both Broome and Perth five times a week. Given the distance between the town's attractions, most visitors rent a vehicle on arrival. Most car hire firms will deliver the car at the airport for a fee. Guests staying at Exmouth hotels have the opportunity to sample some of Western Australia's best seafood. These delicacies are readily available from restaurants and supermarkets around the town.
