Introduction to Darwin - Airport
The busiest airport in the Northern Territory of Australia is Darwin International Airport. Several Australian airlines, including Qantas, Jetstar, Airnorth and Skywest, operate regular flights from Darwin to other major cities around the country, providing a quick and convenient way to reach this distant city. Darwin Airport is 13kms from the centre of the city. It takes about 15 minutes with the airport shuttle, taxi or rental car to get to most destinations in the area. The terminal is open 24-hours a day, seven days a week, offering passengers several options for dining, a drink or some last minute shopping. A fully stocked duty-free outlet is located in both the arrivals and departures section of the terminal, and other useful traveller services, such as ATMs, currency exchange and tourist information, are also readily available. There are two Darwin Airport hotels within 350 metres of the terminal, giving passengers with an early flight or late arrival a close and convenient accommodation option.
