Just over 700 miles north of Perth on the coast of isolated Western Australia, Coral Bay is a small town prized for its excellent coral reef which attracts a steady stream of divers. Only settled at the end of the 1960s, the town is well off the beaten track, which makes it all the more charming. The beach here is quiet and stunningly beautiful, with grassland behind the sand and a large reef off the shore which is home to whale sharks and manta as well as humpback whale during the June to October migration season. There is a place to rent boats here for game fishing in the rich waters which include large species such as marlin and dolphin, along with a sail boat rental shop.
