Introduction to Cootamundra, Australia
In the south of Australia's New South Wales, just 100 miles from the capital, Canberra, Cootamundra is a small town which fixates on cricket as its claim to fame. The birth place of the legendary Don Bradman, considered by many to be the best batsman in the history of cricket, the town has preserved his house as a tourist destination. The other claim to fame here is the Cootamundra Wattle, a rare breed of acacia, and there is a festival here to celebrate its bloom each year. There is a golf course just on the edge of town as well as a selection of small parks. Access is easy given there is a train station here on the main Sydney to Melbourne line as well as good road links to Canberra, just two hours away by car. Cootamundra hotels are densely packed around Olympic Highway so there is never a shortage of rooms. other spellings: cootamundra otel, cootamandra hotell, cootamendra hote, cootumundrahotels
