Introduction to Caloundra - City Centre
The city of Caloundra is located on the stunning southeast coastline of Queensland, Australia. Two decades ago, it was just a small sleepy town nestled within the still underdeveloped Sunshine Coast. However, today it is a bastion of surf, sun and fun, boasting a major tourism reputation. The city centre has been largely regenerated following the tourism boom of the 1990s. There is plenty of Caloundra City Centre hotels located throughout the settlement, especially close to the beach. There is a plethora of beaches to be explored, including Kings Beach and Dicky's Beach. There is a water park located in the city centre, and a redeveloped municipal pool that now contains waterslides and other family-attracting features. Visitors will love the town centre, which boasts a quiet yet interesting shopping precinct just behind the beaches. Getting to the city can be done via air, as the Sunshine Coast Airport is only a few kilometres to the northwest.
