Located some seven kilometres from Brisbane's city centre, the upscale residential suburb of Ascot is characterised by its wind, tree-lined streets and beautifully-kept 'Queenslander'-style large homes and mansions. Queensland's largest city radiates outwards from its commercial heart located on a bend in the Brisbane River, extending as far as coastal Moreton Bay, the mouth of the river. It's a popular tourist destination for its many lovely parks and green spaces, its Koala Centre, excellent shopping and dining facilities, the nearby Kangaroo Cliffs, fishing and boating along the river and the adventure climb at Storey Bridge.
