Introduction to Bendigo - City Centre
The city of Bendigo is located towards the centre of the Australian state of Victoria, approximately 150kms northwest of Melbourne. It has a population just shy of 92,000 people, making it the fourth most populated city in the state. The city centre is made up of about 20 blocks, with the main McIvor Highway running straight through the CDB, also known as Pall Mall, where the main shopping district spreads out from the Hargreaves Mall. Bendigo grew up around its gold mining industry and there are a number of attractions based on the town's golden era. One of the most visited is the award-winning Golden Dragon Museum which is dedicated to the Chinese immigrants who came to the region; it boasts beautiful Chinese gardens. Also in the centre of the city is Rosalind Park, a Victorian style garden with interesting statues and a blue stone viaduct. There is also a statue of Queen Victoria at the park's main entrance. Bendigo City Centre hotels are found throughout the heart of town, catering to visitors on varying budgets.other spellings: bendigo city otel, bendego hotell center, bandigo hote, bendigohotels, badigo hotle
