Located a few miles off the east coast of Queensland, close to Cairns, Bedarra Island is a luxury resort within a chain of small islands that are half surrounded by a reef. With its hilly jungle interior and sandy beaches, the island is a high-end escape from the mainland. The beaches here are the stuff of tropical island legend, with crystal clear waters and a fine sandy shoreline. Most activities here are centred in and around the water, with the opportunity to hire catamarans, boats and jet-skis to explore the waters and islands nearby. Within the interior of the island there are trails which cut through the rainforest, offering visitors the chance to do more than simply lie on the beach, although unsurprisingly, this is the main activity here.
