Surrounded by farmland and countryside, Bornholm is a small township which allows guests to fully experience the delights of rural Western Australia. The township offers easy access to the port city of Albany, a 25-minute drive away. Still inhabited Albany is the state's oldest settlement. As such, it hosts a number of historical attractions including the Convict Gaol, home to the city's main museum. In addition, West Cape Howe National Park and Lowlands Beach are both within a 15-minute drive of Bornholm. The national park is the southernmost point in the state, while Lowlands Beach is considered to be one of the most scenic beaches in the region. Popular activities in the park include hiking, cycling and hang-gliding. Travellers can get here by flying to Albany Airport, located north of the port city and 33kms away from Bornholm hotels. Accommodation here tends to cater mostly to adults but families with children are welcome at some establishments.
