The Hulhangu, the southwest monsoon, starts in May and ends around October. The Iruvai monsoon season is quite mild but the seas can get quite rough and there are heavy showers with strong winds during the Hulhangu monsoon.
Generally, the average temperature on the island is 28°C and rarely changes throughout the year, but a constant sea breeze keeps the warm air moving. The best time to visit the island is during the dry season, which is around December to April. During this period there are only slight showers and lots of sunshine. It is still pleasant in early May and November before the monsoon kicks in.
