Siem Reap Travel Guide - Activities
Spas and massage: many massage and spa establishments have popped up in Siem Reap to keep up with the increased number of tourists. The Seeing Hands Massage provides excellent massages. Most of its masseurs are blind and the centre uses some of its profits to train the blind in this healing art. Foot massage services can be found all over Siem Reap, but especially in Psar Chaa.
Swimming: as there are no public swimming pools the locals swim in the rivers and lake. Some hotels have swimming pools but these are usually small and not very appealing. The best swimming pools can be found at the Sofitel Royal and the Angkor Palace Spa which have large lagoon designed pools.
Eating out: is an enjoyable experience not only because of the wide range of delicious cuisine that is available, but also because of the charming ambience and the good service found in the numerous quaint and charming restaurants in Siem Reap town.
Phnom Kulen: has a large waterfall that is very popular with the locals. It can be found to the north east of Siem Reap and is fairly easy to get to. It is probably best to visit the waterfall on a week day to fully experience the scenic waterfall and its surroundings, take a dip in its lagoon and avoid the crowds.
