Introduction to Koh Kong - Beach

There's a great deal to do and see in and around the Cambodian town of Koh Kong, including rivers, jungles, mountains, waterfalls, a casino and zoo and seven of the greatest beaches in southeast Asia, set on offshore Koh Kong Island. The town lies in the Elephant Mountains and Cardamom region of the country, and is the capital of Koh Kong Province. It's adjacent to the Thai border, and approached by a magnificently scenic drive through some of Cambodia's most spectacular ad unspoiled regions. As the island is a military site, there are no Koh Kong Beach hotels, with overnight stays forbidden by law, but accommodation nearby is easily sourced. Daytrips from the town can be booked, giving access to the spectacular beach with its top-class swimming, diving and snorkelling opportunities. The shoreline on the mainland, a short distance from the town, is also attractive, with Cham Yeam beach the best of several.
