Cordoba is Argentina’s second largest city. Around one and a half million people live here and the city is also a beacon for tourism since the famed historical architecture and numerous important monuments are built here in the city. The world famous Jesuit Block contains many of Cordoba’s Roman Catholic buildings and monuments and many Cordoba hotels are located adjacent to or near here. The National University of Cordoba hosts many conferences and events and during these times as well as beginning or end of semester time, hotels in Cordoba swell with the influx of new visitors. Parts of Cordoba are listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites and the Cordoba hotels in these parts of town blend beautifully in with their beautifully ornate surrounds. Each February, the Carnival features water balloon throwing and other annual festivals such as Spring Day and Friends Day draw still more visitors to Cordoba.
