Introduction to Buenos Aires - Puerto Madero
Puerto Madero or the waterfront is an area of Buenos Aires that is being revived and re-built. The old port area is home to some historic red brick buildings and shipping related edifices. This historically important area is becoming a trendy and popular residential area. Although primarily a residential area, visitors will find plenty of Puerto Madero hotels to choose from. Ship lovers will absolutely adore Puerto Madero. There are plenty of amazing ships to explore, including the Uruguay and the Presidente Sarmiento. There are also still some abandoned ships in the port area. The re-building is attracting some amazing architecture and art to this area, such as the stunning Woman's Bridge, the River View Towers and the Sphere Dream sculpture. Nearby, visitors will also find the popular Buenos Aires Ecological Reserve. It is an old landfill site which has been returned to nature. It is a great place to escape, with plenty of local flora and fauna to be seen.Visit our Buenos Aires Travel Guide
