Introduction to Buenos Aires - Belgrano
Best-known as the home of the famous football team, River Plate, Belgrano is a refined residential area on the north side of Buenos Aires. Visitors can reach the team's stadium by taking subway Line D to Congreso de Tucuman Station, from where it is about eight streets away on foot. Belgrano hotels offer a good chance to get away from the tourist areas in the city centre and enjoy a suburban Buenos Aires experience. There is some great food in Chinatown, located on Arribenos, while art lovers should head to Manuel Belgrano Square. The square hosts a regular artisan market that is especially popular on weekends. Near the junction of Juramento and Cuba, the Larreta Museum features an array of Spanish art. Meanwhile, 200m away, the Sarmiento Historical Museum is housed in the former Town Hall. Sarmiento features a number of exhibits which once belonged to former Argentinean presidents. Those craving the outdoors will enjoy Barrancas Park, one of the best-designed parks in the city.Visit our Buenos Aires Travel Guide
