Introduction to Buenos Aires - Almagro
Buenos Aires Almagro is a neighbourhood located just east of the centre of the capital of Argentina. It is most famous for its tango, and there are many dance and music venues, the most famous being the Casa de Tango. The Carlos Gardel Museum is also worth visiting; he was a songwriter and important figure in tango. This district is not very touristy, so are only a few large Almagro hotels to choose from, located off the main Avenida Corrientes. There are two parks in this neighbourhood, Plaza Almagro and Parque del Centenario, which are central meeting points. The plaza has a nice playground for children and is home to a Sunday book fair. The Centenario Park is home to the Museo de Ciencias Naturales (Natural Science Museum), as well as a Sunday antique fair. Almagro also boasts one of the biggest flower markets in the world; strolling around it is simply amazing. Visit our Buenos Aires Travel Guide
