Introduction to Soldeu - City Centre
The small town of Soldeu is located in the northeast part of the even tinier principality of Andorra, situated between Spain and France. Many Soldeu City Centre hotels are either large converted farm houses or traditional rural inns called bordas. Skiing is the main winter attraction in this town, ranked among Europe's top-three budget ski resorts. No other resort in the Pyrenees Mountains boasts as many skiing runs as the Grand Valira ski resort, which contains a total of 193kms of runs. A Grand Valira pass also gives skiers access to the neighbouring resorts of Encamp, Pas de la Casa, Canillo, El Tarter, and Grau Roig. Few skiing and snowboarding schools in the world are as large or as renowned as the one in Grand Valira, which employs more than 450 multilingual instructors qualified to teach both beginners and more experienced skiers seeking to improve their skills. However, the fun does not leave once the snow melts. Visitors may still hike, ride the gondola up the mountains, and even ride dog sleds called arapaho in warmer weather.
