Introduction to Canillo, Andorra
Canillo hotels are few and far between. Canillo is the major town of the Andorran parish that is also called Canillo. There is an exciting gondola link between Canillo and Grandvalira, one of the main ski towns in Andorra. Hotels in Canillo are within walking distance of the Church of San Joan de Caselles, a fascinating stone building with a dramatic bell tower. The Church is still in use today as a place of worship but tourists and visitors are welcome to sightsee and explore inside the church itself as well as the green lawns and wooded grounds that surround it. A famous mountaineer from Andorra called Xavier Capadevila Romero came from Canillo and many shops, streets and Canillo hotels will feature his name or his likeness in their signage or in their name.
